Scientology have a number of Frontgroups that deal with "citizen's concerns", one of the more well known groups deals with Scientology's battle with Psychiatry.
The Citizens Commission on Human Rights, also known as CCHR, is an advocacy group established in 1969. Its stated goal is to fight what it describes as "human rights crimes" by mental health professionals, stating that electroconvulsive therapy, racism, psychosurgery, involuntary commitment and child medication are all practices which are rife in psychiatry.
CCHR's aggressive stance has provoked controversy, newsmedia have had to pay "very substantial" libel damages after a court found that CCHR's claims were "highly defamatory" and "utterly false." In 2005, CCHR opened the "Psychiatry: An Industry of Death" Museum alleging psychiatry's long-standing "master plan" for world domination. According to the exhibition, Psychiatry is responsible for the plummeting educational standards, rising health insurance premiums, the recent rash of school shootings and even the 9/11 attacks. Some of the displays assert that "Suicide bombers are ... assassins manufactured through drugs and psycho-political methods," and "Careful psychiatric indoctrination and treatment can make the most barbaric act rational.".
Another "citizen's concern group" operated by Scientology is Religious Freedom Watch, a website operating under the guise of religious freedom, but whose content is solely focused on Black Propaganda attacks against Scientology Critics, other groups include Citizens for an Alternative Tax System, and Youth for Human Rights International that push Scientology's agenda and indirectly recruit members respectively.
