"This was made ... understanding that The Way to Happiness was a Non-Government Organization (NGO) ... In soliciting the contribution, The Way to Happiness ... did not indicate an affiliation with the Church of Scientology"
The Way to Happiness
"Certainly not for the families they have ruthlessly broken up, my own 27-year marriage included." - Tory Christman

The Way to Happiness is a 1980 booklet written by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard listing 21 moral precepts, and distributed by The Way to Happiness Foundation International, a Scientology-related non-profit organization founded in 1984. The Way to Happiness, another part of the umbrella group Association for Better Living and Education (ABLE), forms the core of the Church of Scientology prison program Criminon. The Way to Happiness, sometimes referred to as TWTH, is also used in the Scientology-affiliated organization Narconon. Another group, known as Volunteer Ministers, which is a Scientology-affiliated organization which responds to disaster scenes, distributes The Way to Happiness pamphlets.
The booklet is often distributed to schools who are unaware of the connections to Scientology, Scientology have also claimed that it's international distribution of the booklet in the Third World has been supported my multinational corporations such as Coca-Cola, 711, Philips Electronics, and Dell .
In a speech given at a New Year's event in 2007, David Miscavige claimed that the distribution of the booklet is aided by "corporate tie ins", mentioning 7/11, Coca-Cola, Philips Electronics, and Dell by name as companies who use this outreach to augment their "Third World image problems", however these companies denied these links to Scientology.
The book itself is simple and promotes basic good values with which few people would disagree. How does the Church of Scientology use this? In an area where they plan to open a "mission" or "org" they visit local business and professional people such as doctors and dentists and persuade them to buy the Way to Happiness Program; each booklet will have the doctor's or businessperson's name and address on it. This is based on a policy Hubbard wrote called "Safepointing," in which Scientology "safepoints" (makes safe) an area before arrival. There lies the insidiousness of it.
"Clearly we were not very comfortable and did not think it was appropriate to use the seal of the city of Dallas, the mayor's logo or my name on something we were not aware of."
Indoctrination Dangers of these Groups.
Scientology uses it's FrontGroups to introduce it's indoctrination techniques on an unsuspecting public. Most of whom have no idea that the programs they are participating and part of the Scientology Organization.
Pushing and furthering their agenda.
Scientology uses it's FrontGroups to push their agenda on the press and public, and conduct Black Propaganda against their enemies such as the Psychiatry Industry, and the established Scientology Critics.
